Shorinji ryu karate, firmly rooted in Southern
Japan, is characterized by great mobility and swift
combinations of movements. Shorinji ryu karate is
an older style of karate, and very complimentary to
Shotokan.
The Satsuma Dojo is affiliated with the All-Japan Karate-Do Federation, headed by Master Isamu Tamotsu, tenth dan. Shorinji ryu karate is based in the home dojo "Renshinkan", in Japan. "Renshinkan" translates to "the school where you study hard with feeling from the heart".
